Please join me in welcoming the following USAID political appointees and expert advisors who have joined the Agency since June 7, 2021.

Jamille Bigio, Director for the Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment Hub (GenDev), Acting Deputy Assistant Administrator for GenDev and Acting Gender Coordinator, Bureau for Development, Democracy, and Innovation (DDI)

Rebecca Chalif, Spokesperson and Press Director, Bureau for Legislative and Public Affairs (LPA)

Ronalie de Alwis, Deputy Director of Advance and Trip Director, Office of the Administrator (AID/A)

Stephanie Gent, Director of Strategic Communications, Bureau for Legislative and Public Affairs (LPA)

Sophia Lajaunie, Public Engagement Advisor, Bureau for Legislative and Public Affairs (LPA)

Nicole Pasteur, Communications Advisor (Media Advisor), Bureau for Legislative and Public Affairs (LPA)

Lauren Post, Senior Advisor, Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA)

Joe Scheidler, Special Assistant to the White House Liaison, Office of the Administrator (AID/A)

Amol Shalia, Scheduler, Office of the Administrator (AID/A)

I am also pleased to share that Don Steinberg has joined the Office of the Administrator as an Expert Consultant. In particular, he will support new and ongoing efforts to enhance our development localization agenda and expand strategic ties with foundations and major philanthropies. He previously served as Deputy Administrator at USAID as well as other senior positions across government within the White House, National Security Council, Department of State, and Congress, and has more than 45 years of experience in government and nongovernmental organizations.

I am thrilled to welcome these individuals, who bring with them wide-ranging expertise. I know they will continue to push the Agency forward toward its goals while representing the values of the Biden-Harris Administration. We will provide regular updates as our team continues to grow. Thank you for your support as we work together to advance our mission.
