Arrival of New Principal Advisor to the Administrator, Deputy Chief of Staff, and Additional Political Appointee Leadership and Staff
I am pleased to share that Mark Feierstein has joined the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) as Principal Advisor to the Administrator. He will perform specified delegated duties to assist the Administrator and the Office of the Administrator until such time as a Deputy Administrator is confirmed.
Mark joins us from the Albright Stonebridge Group, a global business strategy firm based in Washington, D.C., where he served as Senior Advisor and advised clients on entry and growth strategies throughout the Western Hemisphere region. Mark previously served as Special Assistant to the President (2016-2017) and Senior Director for Western Hemisphere Affairs on the National Security Council (2015-2017). He also previously served at USAID in a variety of roles, including Associate Administrator and Assistant Administrator for Latin America and the Caribbean. Outside of government, Mark has worked as a principal at Greenberg Quinlan Rosner, an international political consulting firm, and served at the National Democratic Institute as Director for Latin America and the Caribbean.
I look forward to working with Mark as we continue the important work of the Agency in the Biden-Harris Administration. I would also like to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation to Ann Marie Yastishock for her leadership as Chief Advisor and for her commitment to the Transition process.
I am also pleased to share that Sonali Korde has joined the Office of the Administrator as a Deputy Chief of Staff. Sonali has more than a decade of experience here at USAID, most recently serving as the Acting Deputy Assistant Administrator in the Bureau for Legislative and Public Affairs. As Deputy Chief of Staff, Sonali will focus on policy and programming priorities for the Office of the Administrator.
In addition, please join me in welcoming the following USAID political appointees who joined since March 29, 2021.
Adam Baron, Director of Protocol, Bureau for Legislative and Public Affairs (LPA)
Isabella Blecha, Special Assistant to the Administrator, Office of the Administrator (A/AID)

Evelyn Smith, Special Assistant, Office of the Administrator (A/AID)
